Me? i'm a whacky designer/video editor who enjoys collecting toys as well as gadgets, and basically anything cool i come across and i can get my hands on. In simple terms i collect junks haha~ but then i believe that one man's junk is another man's treasure. Don't you agree?!!

Crabstick anyone???

Its been like 3 days since my last hunt, my hands been itching for some action. Well little did I know, that is what I'll get. After scrolling through the elders list of quest...I randomly picked a hunting quest. And I've got... Kill or capture Zazami. No idea whats a Zazami, guess I will find out soon.

This time around the hunt takes me to the harsh barren land of the desert. Pop in some rations and Cool Drinks and I'm off. . .

Pretty sight isn't it???? Sand dunes galore. . . ok, move along no time to be sight seeing.

Haha this time around I mange to get hold of an essential hunting/survival item, the *psychoserum*, with this you'll be granted instant autotracker skill for a few seconds, enough to tell you where should you be headed, Hmmm area 5, right lets go.

.Like the previous MHF, The desert is huge, and as u can see like the previous map they made
Area 2 and 5 huge and vast.

Anyway the path led me to an open desert area, it was swimming with chephalos (great, lotsa nuisance just what I need.) Oooooh and what do we have here? A huge oversize Hermit Crab named Zazami, and its using a monoblos skull as it shell.

Righto, the moment I painted Zazami, it immediately charge at me with unstaggering speeds, lifting up one claw ready to give me a good swing. As with any new monsters that I come across, I'd go into an observe mode, basically just letting the monster attack, while I try my best to figure out how to dodge, ultimately looking for openings and weakness of its attack and exploit it.

Ok, so here's what I've observed. Zazami has a wide range of attacks, here's a rough list of it:

  • Left/Right Swipe
  • Forward shove
  • Power clamp (2sec charge)
  • Backward charge
  • Burrowing Attack
  • Giant Leap/Stomp
  • Water Spit
  • Curl up (defensive maneuver)

*Left/Right Swipe, Front shove, and Powerclamp are easily avoided, by either running side ways or rolling thru its legs.

Death from below, Zazami burrows into the earth and unleash a series of upward thrust beneath the ground (think Diablos/Monoblos) , and thanks to the huge horn at the end of its ass... any contact by it, and you'll be "flying without wings" followed by a painful bone crushing crash. Ouch.

Backward charge, Zazami has a Monoblos skull/horn at its rear and is not afraid to use it. Stand too close to Zazami's rear, you can bet your gonna get rammed by that massive horn.

Water Spit....kaaaaaaaathuuiiiiii (Beware any contact to the claw while Zazami is executing this move will send you flying in a distance with a good chunk out of your life.) But this is also a perfect opportunity to pummel Zazami's claws...unleash your fury to the claws, legs or the shell at the back.

Giant stomp, Zazami will launch itself high into the sky and then lands painfully back to earth...get caught by this attack, you can be sure you'll be kissing dirt very soon. Watch out for signs when its about to make this move, it will bend its legs and leap high. . . you have about a second to roll out of the way before this huge behemoth comes crashing down on you. Right after the stomp Zazami will stagger to get up, rush in and attack~!!!

Curl up, sometimes Zazami will stop attacking and uses its Large claws to shield itself, causing any attacks to bounce off its tough exoskeleton. Note: a way to counter this is to chuck a Sonic bomb while it is in this state. It will flinch and give you ample time to introduce Mr.Pain to it.

Tip: At the moment I found that stay to the side of Zazami and attacking its legs is the best way to bring him down...also staying too near, too long at the rear of Zazami will cause it to Charge, and the charge animation is pretty quick and hard to avoid if your standing directly behind it.

After about 20mins of fooling around I managed to bring Zazami down...
hmmm gotta work on the time. Anyway Quest Cleared~ Wooohooo!!

Back at Pokke Village. . .
Using the parts I got from Zazami, I made the fullset of it. LOL I look an American football player. Not bad though... hmmm somehow it resembles Metroid Sam's Armour. Oh yeah, from the extra part I made the GiantClaw GS too... now that's what I call a set lol.
The armour gives DEF +20, Thunder resistant -10 and another skill which I don't
know what it means.

Hmmmmmm so its weak against thunder, I'll probably need to forge The Eagle Cleaver...Time for some Khezu farming. Untill the next hunt.

A whole new ball game.

Right, once i got my bearings I checked out my local smithy and got myself a nice white velociprey armour set. Which he goes on telling me they are very common in this parts. . .and that they are vicious in groups. Haha not that I'm going to let alittle nuisance stop me. I also grabbed a new weapon call a Katana. well looks like my ole Scythe of Menace but they assure me that it handles totally different. Right time to move out~!

My my isn't this piggy persistent. . . STOP sniffing my *toooot* will ya?

My excellent summer getaway house... lol

The local Blacksmith.

Off to the local market and pick up some survival gears. . . better to be over prepared than to be caught unaware. lol

OK ole granny here is the boss around this parts, all mission and hunts will have to go through her. Hmmmm lets try hunt for Babakonga in the Secret Forest.

After about 6hours, my boat arrived at the SecretForest, it was already dusk and its pouring heavily, but that does not dampen my spirit matter a fact I was in awe with the foreign surroundings. The elder was kind enough to supply me with a whole range of useful items, a few new to my eyes were; a StunTrap, a Deodorant smokebombs and tranquilizer bombs. Hmmm wonder what do they do.

Not knowing what a Babakonga looks like I went on looking around the map, but eventually i managed to track down a furry pink oversize ape.
Like reflex I took out my paintball and tag him, running around the map blindly, trying to figure out where the monster went is a frustrating scenario. One lesson which I know all too well in my pass hunts.

Fighting Babakonga (haha somehow Babakonga it just reminds me of bakaranger, truely comical) was more of a joke rather than a real fight, his attacks are easily avoided and almost all of his attack has a big opening at the end for you to pummel him. Some of babakonga attacks are rather hilarious but deceptively deadly.

A Bellyblock whereby
Babakonga with suck in air and inflate his belly make almost impenetrable from the front.

Belly Flop, (shown above) one shall witness a gigantic leap into the air follow by a hard belly flop down to earth, face first. ouch~!! Others includes a 3 hit combo with by the end of the 3rd combo will have him lying down on his back gasping for air.

But I think by far the most annoying is the Fart attack...yes you heard me, the fart attack. There's 2 fart attacks. One is where he literally squat down and farts. Very easily avoided. The other one which is far more "dangerous" is when
Babakonga goes into rage mode he will fart and his butt cheeks and nose goes red. Well bet you must be wondering what happens if you get pooped in the face. . . look below.

Yup. . . it stinks, so bad, that you can't even bear to consume any of your potions, dangerous if your life is low. But fret not!!! With the deodorant 5000 it will rid of you any foul smells or fumes. hahah bless the elder for packing this for me on this mission. Works like a (smoke bomb/farcaster.) charm. Smelly-fart-away 5000, works~!!!

Something new which they do things over is the way to complete a hunting mission is either by slaying the target monster, or you capture it. And there's a handy new trap called the Stun trap, easily made by combining Trap tool and Genprey fangs.

Once I planted the trap I stood back and let the big oaf walk right into his doom... 2 tranquilizer bombs later. . .

Phew. . . not too bad for my first ape hunt eh? and lookie this, the rewards are pretty good. Seems like folks here love their monster raw lol. Also I notice one can break
Babakonga's claws and also damage his tail, (you wouldn't get to crave but u might get what his tail was holding...usually a bone or a bluemushroom or something)

And thats a wrap!!! For now. . .

The new adventure begins.

After days of walking. . . I found it~!!! I've finally reached the snowy mountains. I was greeted not by cold winter chilling winds but of warm smiles and greetings of the local folks who lives there. I've already begining to feel i'm gonna like it here. ;)

Promptly, i found a nice comfy little place to lodge in, it has the usual facilities a new warm bed a sturdy box to hold junks of my adventures. . .

The kitchen was no less spectacular then the one i had back in kokoto town . . .

Time to check out the neighbourhood. . .
